What is Cargo?
A large number of goods are still soldwith the help of sea transport. As with any sales transaction, proper documentation is required to carry out transactions with goods. In the case of maritime transport there are special documents. One such document is the cargo. Let's talk about what a cargo is and where this word is used.
The word "Cargo" is of Spanish origin. Literally means loading, loading, so sometimes the loading operations themselves are called "cargo". But the basic economic definition is as follows: Cargo is a cargo carried on a sea-going ship.
With the development of trade and insurance relations, and also with the understanding that it is necessary to document market transactions, the cargo has acquired several additional meanings:
- in foreign trade operations: any goods in the documentation of which there is no precise exact name, or their place of loading is not clearly indicated;
- cargo insurance during its transportation.
