In the old days, most wiring in residential buildings was done in the form of aluminum materials. Now they are replaced by wires made of copper, allowing to provide the necessary power to even the most powerful household appliance, without the risk of short circuits and burnouts. Statistics show that the majority of power outages occur precisely in the places where the wires are connected, therefore it must be carried out with the utmost care.
Most often when connecting wiring using one of these methods:
1. Twist.The most widespread method once, is carried out very easily and quickly. If everything is done correctly, twisting will last at least 10 years.However, it should be taken into account that such a site is very much exposed to external adverse effects in the form of moisture, pollution, mechanical damage. Also, at high voltages, twisting can quickly fail. To extend the life of the connection, it is important to protect it well with insulation. At the same time, connecting copper and aluminum network sections in this way is prohibited.
2. Soldering.This method is best used if the wiring is made from copper wires. Although fluxes are produced under aluminum, but, as a rule, such compounds are not distinguished by reliability. For soldering copper used classic soldering iron and solder. Before soldering the wires are served, after which they are carefully twisted and soldered: the use of rosin or flux will simplify the process. It is also very important that the place of soldering is cooled naturally, no cooling is necessary in water or in cold, otherwise the reliability of the connection will be interrogative. This process is quite time-consuming, moreover, it is important to additionally protect the uncovered sections of wires.
3. Welding.This will require a power transformer and a carbon electrode.The wiring is pre-twisted, and then melted by welding: the resulting connection area is highly conductive. For insulation after weldingor soldering mainly use special heat shrinkable tubes, resembling ordinary cambric. After heating, this tube is sealed as much as possible, which makes isolation particularly reliable. You can also apply the usual electrical tape, winding it into three or more layers.
4. Terminals. The most popular method of wiring connection in our time. The terminals can be of different shapes and designs, and the connections obtained are characterized by reliable contact and quick installation. As a rule, the case of these devices is made of dielectric material, and inside there are special fasteners equipped with metal contacts.
