Developed a new type of temporary mobile shelter with convenient transportation.
A new type of temporary mobile shelter has been developed, which can be dropped from an airplane, transported by car and even manually moved.
The creators of the Portuguese design company Studiomuda called their brainchild Lofty, which means “tall and proud”. The novelty is designed to solve the problem "inherent in all hard-to-reach areas", and is a rapidly erected temporary shelter.
During transportation, this temporary home has already been assembled by 90%, which reduces the necessary manipulations and time to the start of operation.
The raised pyramidal shape of Lofty allows you to install it in any terrain, even on uneven or wet soil, and creates a shaded space inside which it is nice to gather.
The main material of the construction is a fabric on a light bamboo frame of four poles.Nylon mesh, which serves as a bed, gives the integrity of the design.
Studiomuda specializes in “social design and architecture”, and in this case, the designers have made it possible to group temporary cabins according to the family principle or according to other established connections so that no narrow aisles form on the campus.
Like the hexagonal houses of Architects for Society, individual modules are easily interconnected, which can be particularly useful in disaster areas.
