Czech PPF wants to buy Rostelecom assets
Telecommunications holding Rostelecom received a proposal from the Czech group PPF to transfer to the management of real estate in the capital of Russia with an area of more than 100 thousand square meters, as well as in the regions, RBC daily reports.
The source of the publication specifies that negotiations are underway on 10-15 objects that are located in Moscow and St. Petersburg. Real Estate Company, which is a division of the PPF group, hopes to get property management for their further reconstruction.
Rostelecom has not yet made a final decision on its assets, according to the source of the holding. Although the company is interested in selling its non-core assets, no specific negotiations have been conducted with anyone yet. Moreover, there are several interested companies that are willing to buy real estate or take control of the operator. One of several members of the board of Rostelecom cited the example of Deutsche Telekom, a western telecommunications company, which earned several billion dollars from the sale of real estate, which in turn brought additional benefits and boosted the pace of the company's development.
PPF Real Estate Group Communications Director, Milan Tomanek, reports that “the group is in close contact with the management of Rostelecom. In turn, Oleg Rumyantsev, a representative of Rostelecom, said that “if an offer comes from a PPF group or from another large company, we will consider it”.
Currently, Rostelecom in Moscow alone has at the disposal of 112 thousand sq. M. real estate.
