About 9 billion rubles will be allocated for the modernization of roads in the Rostov region
About nine billion rubles is planned to be allocated this year to improve the condition of roads in the Rostov region. The Minister of Highways of the region Jivan Vartanian reported about this at a meeting of the commission for ensuring road safety under the administration of the region.
“In 2008, 8 billion 905 million rubles were allocated for improving the state of regional, municipal and local roads. These are colossal figures, which have increased by 60% compared to last year, ”said Jivan Vartanian.
At the same time, the head of the local traffic police, Alexander Kaverzin, said that road signs in the region often do not meet the requirements, and road markings are practically not performed on the street network of cities and districts of the region.
“There are about 80% of road signs on the roads of the Zernogradsk district of the region, and almost 60% in the city of Zernograd itself.The horizontal marking is available only on the regional road. There is no marking on the other streets and roads, ”the head of the regional traffic police said.
